Details from our Chefs:

Italian cuisine is one of our favorites! The first thing we love about it are the flavors, the second is that while traditional Italian dishes keep it simple using only a few fresh ingredients - the possibilities are endless! We’re going to make the ultimate comfort food together: pasta! From scratch!

Hear us out... yes, we know it’s easy to open up a box of dry pasta, but fresh pasta is worth the extra effort. The flavor and texture of fresh pasta is far superior to pasta out of a package.

We’ll also guide you through a few of the most valuable techniques in the kitchen, such as knife skills. Learning how to properly handle and use your chef knife can change everything you do in the kitchen. And then we’ll finish it off with a delicious pasta dish that’s so good you’ll put it into your dinner repertoire. We can’t wait to cook with you!

RECIPES:

  • fresh pasta
  • fettucini with sausage, tomatoes, and mushrooms
  • bonus recipe: molten chocolate cake

You can choose to watch and ask questions - or cook along with us in real time! Here’s what you’ll need:

Chef Bios:

Sara and Amy have taught culinary classes together for several years. They’ve cooked together, taught together, and always laughed together.

Amy Christensen is a recipe developer and former chef instructor who has taught thousands of students including children, teens, and adults. Her specialty is pastry - but also loves teaching cuisines from around the world, especially Thai, Spanish, French, and Italian.  Her most cherished culinary teaching experiences include teaching cooking and baking to a class of blind children, teaching knife skills to a foster child on Wednesday’s Child, and teaching a cooking class to a family for the Make A Wish Foundation. She’s competed in local cooking competitions (one with Sara) and has appeared on Studio 5, Fox 13, and Good Things Utah numerous times.

Sara’s food adventure began 10 years ago after taking her first cooking class. She enrolled in multiple intensive courses and her passion for cooking grew into obsession. She then became a culinary instructor and has also taught thousands of students. Sara has worked with a private chef in Park City and has started her own business to cater, teach, and cook for people. Currently Sara is the Deli Director for The Store.
